Healthy Website Best Practices

  1. Make sure your website is easy to navigate. Think from the perspective of a brand new patient and keep it simple. Ideally, a visitor should land on your site and not have to think extensively about where to click next.
  2. Patient-Friendly – Highlight how to schedule an appointment, find insurance/cost information, and learn about featured services.
  3. Mobile-Friendly/Mobile-Responsive – It will create a positive user experience for mobile visitors and boost your visibility on Google. You can check page load speed here.
  4. Have a blog section & share quality content. When writing content, avoid plagiarizing and using jargon. Make sure the content is easy to understand for people not familiar with chiropractic. Good original content is fantastic for SEO! The best practice is to make 1 blog post a month.
  5. Highlight Your Staff – Include each provider’s bio, photo, credentials & more. Patients love to know who they might see before coming into the office.
  6. Secure – Contact your web hosting provider to change from HTTP to HTTPS in your address bar, if you have not done so yet.  HTTP (HyperText Protocol Transfer) is what your web browser uses to load websites, but there is an updated version you should be using called HTTPS. The “S” stands for “Secure,” as all communication is encrypted. And while having a secure website is important in and of itself, Google has started penalizing non-secure sites in search engine rankings.
  7. ADA & HIPAA Compliant – Make sure it follows ADA guidelines and HIPAA Best Practices.
  8. Have links to your social media accounts. Invite anyone who visits your website to easily maccess pictures and reviews left by your patients on social media.
  9. Use popular keywords. Use words that a potential patient would google to find you throughout your website.
  10. Add a section for “Patient Testimonials.” A centralized place to feature patient testimonials will make it easy for new patients to find.
