When is an innocent records request really a wolf in sheep’s clothing? Very often, asking for a few notes is really the fishing line dangled in the water to see if anything bites. If the records sent are sloppy, incomplete, or not compiled in an understandable, orderly fashion, it could lead to a deeper probe. This session will walk attendees through exactly how to make your records shine for any review. It will include the most important items missing from provider documentation and how to ensure they are there every time.
Program Goals/Objectives: At the end of this session, the attendee will be able to:
- Organize and prepare records for a third-party request, whether a single visit or an entire chart
- Use a checklist to master what components of initial and routine office visit documentation must be present, and how to mitigate the damages if it’s missing
- Use a case summary template to properly arrange and define the records that are requested to meet documentation guidelines
